Itinerary

A breath-taking navigation on a canal linking the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean between the Argentine and Chilean Andes, with animals of the region as seals, birds and penguins.

Visit the Haberton Resort and discover its importance to the city of Ushuaia and how it as contributed to colonization of Patagonia Argentina.

Screenplay:

We boarded the tourist port of the Beagle Channel through the Paso Chico.

The channel is divided between Argentina and Chile Centre through an imaginary line, so we sailed by Argentine waters but we can also see the mountains and Islands of the Chilean side of the channel.

To start navigation, we can observe the "Bahía Ushuaia" and see how the city is beautifully surrounded by mountains and glaciers. A beautiful and historic of Ushuaia, we can by imagining how the European boats arriving in the region will come to the area, with its various points of fire, where the natives were warming up.

On the way we passed by the Island of the birds where we see various shorebirds skúas, Albatros, fueguinas as seagulls, ducks cauquenese.

We got the famous island of Wolves, where you will see the 2 different types of Seals . We see them swimming or simply sunbathing with cormorants (birds that in the distance look like penguins).

Browsing a bit more we come to the Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse. Beside the lighthouse we see more colonies of cormorants, both as imperial rockers and parts of the Monte Cervantes, a boat that wrecked in 1930, and learn more about the history of Ushuaia. Crossing the channel observe the island Gable and Puerto Williams, a Chilean naval base.

Upon arriving on the island Martillo do a stop to see the rock cormoránts and Magallánicos penguins and Papúa, these magnificent birds with amazing aquatic skills to return to the island every year during the spring and summer to mating period. Your emotions and photos will be the best memories of this beautiful moment!

We continue to navigate until we reached the famous Haberton Resort, brought directly from England after the end of the Anglican Mission at Ushuaia that belonged the family Bridges.

We got off the boat and went through the charming nature reserve, the family cemetery, rustico shed of tosa and the family home. Places full of history and beauty.

Visit the Museum of birds and Southern  mammals  Acatushún and who wish to can enjoy the delicacies offered at Manacatush tea house (not included on the tour).

We returned to the city by land in a supplementary route “J”  and then we access the route 3 during this journey we spotted all amazing nature of the Tierra del Fuego as: mountains, valleys, lakes and turbais.
