We leave the hotel towards the winter center Tierra Mayor, where the guide will take us to see the smarts and dociles huskies. Then we go into the valley to cross it on a sled pulled by the dogs.
We go through around 2,5km of the valley in this fun and wonderful tour!
After the dog sled ride in a centennial Lenga grove, we arrive at the famous “woodcutter’s refuge”, a rustic cabin heated by firewood.
We say good bye to the Huskies, put on our snowshoes and start our walk through the valley. The snowshoes allow us to walk on the snow. Without it we would sink in the snow and could not go forward. We will have an experience that is something usual for those who live in cold places and have to walk on the snow: fascinating!
Walking on the snow we arrive at the Alvear’s iced waterfall (normally frozen during the winter) and we stop on a beautiful belvedere, where we can see the valley.
Then we come back to the “woodcutter’s refuge”, where we recover our energies with a hot chocolate and a tasty piece of pie before walking to the meeting point.
After this walk, we go back to Ushuaia.
